Their story started as many other couples' stories have - with Grace wearing a flying squirrel onesie and Grant wearing a Snoopy Christmas sweater. They both arrived at a church Christmas party, never having crossed paths with each other. Grant had just moved from Orlando, and meeting the love of his life was the last thing he was thinking about. When he walked into the party, Grace turned to her best friend and said, "He's cute!"

 

The party went on, and they only exchanged a few words, but it was the beginning of forever for them. A few weeks later, Grace decided she was definitely into him. Intimidated by her feelings, she tried not to show it. This somehow got translated to Grant as "She's not into me." What a shocker.

 

Their stories diverged for a few months, with both focused on the busyness of life. In September of 2024, Grace had fallen even more for him but didn't think she had a chance. One Sunday, they went to a young adult's lunch at Penthouse Brewery. They incidentally happened to sit across from each other. A few words were exchanged here and there, in the midst of other conversation. Then a few more, just to each other. Before they knew it, they had been talking for almost two hours and were two of the last people left to leave. As they left, Grant thought to himself, "This is the woman I'm going to marry." And oh, how right he was!
